Teacher Gifts...

Ri graduated Kindergarten a few days ago. So, you know what that means: TEACHER GIFTS!

The past week i was feverishly sewing from a book called Weekend Sewing, knitting, thrifting and embroidering. It was rough, but we finished it.
So after the grad girl (Ri in the blue gown) partied,
we gifted...

embroidered dishtowels.
Ri drew these pictures for her teachers and i embroidered them (my aunt helped me with the chick towel) for the teachers.

And here are the finished products:
for the head teacher, a couple knitted dishclothes like her mother used to make her and a dishtowel in a pretty FTD container.
for one of the teacher's assistants who is from the Phillipines--flamingos--napkins i sewed and hand painted bowl i thrifted!
Here's how her napkins turned out. Flamingoes for funny, poppies for fancy (and for spaghetti dinners.) :o)

And for Mrs. N, the other teacher's assistant that was Ri's favourite teacher this year...
the daisy napkins and handmade soaps from a friend of mine in Idaho. I ended up splurging on a glass kitchen container (like a cookie jar) to contain these gifts for her, as i know she buys in bulk and when you do that, who couldn't use more containers! She was also the teacher to get the chick hatching from an egg. Ri just loves Mrs. N. Thankfully, she is our neighbour, so we'll get to see her this summer!!
